Use your Medical Card or GP Visit Card

Medical Cards and GP Visit Cards can help with GP care and, in some cases, medicines, dental, eye and hearing services and other supports.

They do not all give the same cover.

  • A Medical Card usually covers GP visits, many medicines, some dental, eye and hearing services, and some hospital charges.
  • A GP Visit Card usually covers GP visits only. You still pay for most medicines and other services, unless you qualify under another scheme.
