Check if you can keep Free Travel when moving into work
Some people can keep their Free Travel for a period when they already have Free Travel, and are about to start work or a scheme.
Use this topic if you or someone you support:

Steps
If you feel you may qualify:
1. Make a note of:
- Your age
- The name of your payment
- How long you have been on it
2. Contact the Free Travel Section or Citizens Information
- Say that you have, or are applying for, a job or work scheme
- Ask how long you can keep your Free Travel and what happens if the job or scheme ends
3. If they confirm that you are likely to qualify:
- Use **Apply for Free Travel if you do not get it automatically (FT1)**, or
- Follow any specific instructions they give you
