Family with dependent children
Help choosing a household type
Here's what the options mean.
One adult only
- You are the only adult the card is for, and
- You either live alone, or live with other adults who have their own separate income.
Two adults as a couple
- You live with a spouse, civil partner or long term partner, and
- You share money and regular household bills.
Family with dependent children
- You or your partner care for at least one dependent child, for example under 16 or under 25 in full time education, and
- The child depends mainly on your income.
